LBW Race

Ready or not let’s run!!!!!!!! This will be the 20th year that Lakeside, Breton Downs, and Wealthy Elementary Schools' Spring Running Clubs will culminate with the LBW Race!  This year’s LBW Race will take place on Monday, May 19, 2025. It will be held at the East Grand Rapids High School Track, with registration starting at 4:15 pm. The Annual LBW Race draws over 300 participants from Kindergarten thru 5th grade students with many parents, siblings, and spectators on hand to enjoy the event! The Kabookie Fun Run for Kindergarten thru 2nd graders is a non-competitive race while the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students compete in ½ mile, ¾ mile, and 1 mile races going for the gold, silver, or bronze in their age category.  All participants receive a race bib, an official LBW Race t‐shirt, and a medal for their achievements. With nearly 100 high school track and field athletes volunteering, it is a great opportunity for them to mentor the younger participants, from guiding them through warm‐ups all the way to seeing them through the finish of their race. We hope that you will consider participating in this special event!
