Cold Weather Conditions and Safety Posts

On days when the wind chill (the “feels like” temperature) is below zero, student safeties assigned to outdoor posts including the street and parking lot will not report. Our Kindergarten classroom, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade safeties will report indoors (similar to a rainy morning). Please note that our street area will not have safeties during this time, so arrival may look a bit different for our younger Bulldogs. Major crosswalks (Breton/York and Breton/Boston) will still have an adult crossing guard.

To determine whether safeties will be on duty and whether students will be allowed inside early, the office will use the conditions reported by WoodTV8 at 8:00 a.m. We reference the current conditions listed on woodtv.com/weather and follow the posted “feels like” temperature when making these decisions.
